While Malbec plantings in California remain limited compared to its South American strongholds, the high-elevation site at Moon Mountain Vineyard proves exceptionally well-suited to the grape’s exacting requirements. The rocky, volcanic soils and warm, sun-drenched days followed by cool nights provide the perfect conditions for Malbec to thrive. The resulting wine is powerful and structured, capturing the variety’s quintessential dark fruit profile. Definitive ripeness is layered with nuances of dusty cocoa and espresso. A firm tannic backbone provides an impressive core of concentration, while vibrant acidity lends a refreshing counterpoint. Undoubtedly the most muscular and masculine wine in the Repris portfolio, this bottling will reward patience in the cellar.
