Heritage Clones
Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine Notes
More than any other wine in the Repris portfolio, Heritage Clones is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of Sonoma’s early vintners. This wine honors luminaries like Louis Martini, Steve Kistler, Brad Webb, Bob Sessions, and Jeff Baker — the esteemed winemaker for Carmenet, Repris’ predecessor. Their legacy lives on in the few remaining bottles from those early vintages, which continue to evolve gracefully, exhibiting the earthy structure and balance reminiscent of classic Bordeaux.
Our Heritage Clones Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted to embody this timeless style. It showcases the unique terroir of Moon Mountain Vineyard, with its volcanic soils and optimal growing conditions, while paying homage to traditional winemaking techniques. The result is a wine of depth and complexity, balancing ripe fruit flavors with savory notes and firm, age-worthy tannins. This bottling serves as a liquid chronicle, connecting us to the rich history of our vineyard and the broader narrative of Sonoma winemaking. It stands as a testament to the foresight of those who recognized the potential of these mountain slopes, and to the enduring appeal of wines made with a sense of place and purpose.
