Our 2021 Cabernet Franc stands as a testament to the unique terroir of Moon Mountain Vineyard. Perched atop the fog line at over 1,800’ elevation, our vines benefit from an ideal combination of elements that bring out the best in this often-underappreciated Bordeaux variety. Radiant summer days foster optimal ripening, coaxing out Cabernet Franc’s characteristic red fruit profile and subtle herbal nuances. As evening falls, cool breezes sweep in from the Pacific, preserving crucial acidity and maintaining the grape’s delicate aromatic complexity. This natural rhythm results in a wine of remarkable balance and depth. The palate is at once powerful and refined, with silky tannins providing structure without overwhelming the wine’s inherent elegance. While Cabernet Franc often plays a supporting role in Bordeaux-style blends, this unaccompanied expression proves its ability to shine as a solo performer.
