The diverse volcanic topography of Moon Mountain Vineyard often reveals unique surprises. One of the most fascinating is an isolated pocket along our winery’s western border. Here, surrounded by sun-loving red wine varieties that thrive in the afternoon heat, sits a small outpost offering a shaded reprieve for Marsanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne. Sheltered from late-day exposure by the ridge above, these vines bathe in gentle morning light that nurtures balance, restraint and alluring fruit flavors.
