Heritage Clones

Cabernet Sauvignon

As its name suggests, this wine pays homage to an earlier style of Sonoma winemaking. Long before the popularization of California wine at the Judgment of Paris in 1976, there were ambitious vintners in the mountains above Sonoma who had become curious about what was possible beyond the generic reds being sold by the gallon at local grocery stores. These colorful characters included Louis Martini, Steve Kistler, Brad Webb, Bob Sessions and Jeff Baker, the eminent winemaker for Repris’ predecessor, Carmenet. A few bottles of those old vintages remain, and they continue to age beautifully with the earthy structure and balance of classic Bordeaux. Crafted in the same style, our Heritage Clones Cabernet Sauvignon upholds our connection to this special place and honors the legendary winemakers who inspired it.
