Left Bank is foundational to the Repris story. It was the winery’s debut release, and in the decade since, the wine has chronicled the ascension of Cabernet Franc at Moon Mountain Vineyard. Cabernet Franc is a notoriously challenging grape to grow, far more demanding than heartier varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, its Left Bank companion. Yet there is no denying the superlative finesse of this noble variety. The volcanic topography of Moon Mountain Vineyard allows us to nurture one of the largest plantings of Cabernet Franc in Sonoma Valley, and to explore its exceptional potential in other wines within the Repris portfolio. It also affords us the opportunity to showcase Left Bank as a worthy New World counterpart to the celebrated Bordeaux offerings from the Médoc and Graves.
