No vintage in memory satisfied Cabernet Franc’s particular demands better than 2013. Steady daytime warmth throughout the Summer and Fall fostered full ripening, while cool nights enabled the grapes to retain acidity. It’s a critical balancing act for this low- acid variety, whose delicate nature is easily disrupted. Our Cabernet Franc finds firm footing at the top of Moon Mountain Vineyard, where it enjoys maximum sunshine before evening ocean breezes arrive to maintain its structure.
