Bordeaux Blend

Is it possible for velvet to turn into cashmere? This blend proves it, if only metaphorically so. Ripe raspberries, red cherries, plums, violets, mint and espresso nearly leap out of the glass. Much of that nose comes from the Cabernet Franc, a varietal that does exceptionally well here at Moon Mountain Vineyard. In your mouth, tiers of black and red fruits cascade from one to the next, the flavors gaining in momentum. The wine feels round and full. A subtle but sweet herbal note slowly registers. Cabernet Franc? Indeed. When added to Merlot, it produces a wine in which the whole is far more than the sum of its parts.
